POLYCYCLE can be used effectively as insulation materials due to their unique properties:
- Thermal resistance: POLYCYCLE have extremely low thermal conductivity due to their high porosity, small pore size and trapped pockets of air. This makes them excellent thermal insulators.
- Acoustic insulation: The tiny pores and enclosed air pockets in aerogels also attenuate sound waves, making them good absorbers of noise and vibration. They can provide acoustic insulation.
APPLICATION of Multi-use POLYCYCLE insulation:
- Building insulation: POLYCYCLE blankets can be installed in walls, roofs, windows and floors to significantly improve the energy efficiency of buildings by reducing heat transfer.
- Piping insulation: POLYCYCLE coatings and sleeving are used to insulate pipes carrying hot or cold fluids to minimize heat loss and condensation. They are used for industrial and commercial piping systems.
- Footwear and apparel insulation: POLYCYCLE embedded in fabrics or coatings for clothing and footwear provide enhanced insulation, moisture management and breathability.
- Automotive insulation: POLYCYCLE-filled acoustic panels and other automotive components help reduce noise levels and improve comfort in car interiors. POLYCYCLE mats under hoods provide thermal insulation.
- Thermal protectors: POLYCYCLE can be used as thermal protectors for high temperature equipment like furnaces and ovens.
- Earplugs and hearing protection: POLYCYCLE are being investigated for use in ultralight earplugs and hearing protection devices.
